Banks Broadcasting

Banks Broadcasting was formed to acquire television stations in small to mid-sized markets. Lyle Banks, an experienced television executive and formerly with NBC-Chicago, partnered with 21st Century Group and LIN Television to create this enterprise. Banc of America Capital Investors is also a co-investor in Banks Broadcasting. 21st Century Group provides Banks Broadcasting with financial due diligence support and expertise. LIN Television continues to provide Banks Broadcasting with back office functions and support including engineering, finance, and programming. Banks Broadcasting also leverages the buying power of LIN Television, formerly a UPN affiliate, to obtain the best pricing for syndicated programming.
Banks Broadcasting owns and operates a former UPN affiliate in Boise, Idaho. During the third quarter of 2007, the company sold a former WB affiliate in Wichita, KS. The company purchased the 700 MHz wireless spectrum in Idaho and Kansas in 2003. In 2007, the company initiated the sale of the spectrum in both markets.

Conley Lott Nichols

Conley Lott Nichols, based in Dallas, is an exclusive dealer and servicer of construction and paving equipment. The Company’s primary product lines include IR/Bobcat, Gomaco, Etnyre, LeeBoy, Cedarapids and Ferguson. The product lines are used in a variety of commercial and residential construction settings including airport, highway, street, driveway and parking lot paving. In addition to machine sales, Conley Lott Nichols earns revenue by selling, servicing and renting machines and parts. The high market share (50%) controlled by each product allows the Company to realize higher margins, higher resale values, and higher parts and service content compared with industry averages. In August 2003, the Company completed the acquisition of MPS Machinery, a distributor of rock crushing and screening equipment.
In March 2007, the Company completed the acquisition of Finishline Supply, Inc., an exclusive dealer of hydroseeder machinery and a distributor of mulch, seeds and fertilizer.

21st Century and Goldman Sachs partnered with radio executive Kevin Wagner to create the Urban Radio platform. Urban Radio targets markets with the following characteristics:
- Arbitron-rated market 100+ where attractive consolidation opportunities exist
- Markets with total market radio revenue of $6 million or greater
- African American population of at least 15%
- Markets with no more than two existing urban-formatted FMs
- Markets located primarily in the southeastern US
Key formats include Mainstream Urban, Urban AC, Urban Gospel and Rhythmic/CHR.
Urban owns and operates 24 radio stations located in Alexandria, Louisiana; Muscle Shoals, Alabama; Columbus, Mississippi; Meridian, Mississippi; Tupelo, Mississippi and Toledo, Ohio.
